GARSHOM CULTURAL ICON AWARD 2025

Mr. D Sudheeran,  is a distinguished cultural leader whose lifelong dedication to arts, literature, and community engagement has profoundly impacted Singapore’s Malayalee community. Born in India and professionally trained in engineering, he began his career at Kerala Electricals before relocating to Singapore in 1980. He furthered his education with an MBA from the University of Hull, UK, and went on to serve over three decades at Panasonic Singapore, retiring as Senior Manager.

For more than fifty years, Sudheeran has been a driving force in theatre and stage arts, serving multiple terms as President and Vice-President of Singapore Kairalee Kalanilayam (SKKN). His creative contributions encompass direction, acting, scripting, songwriting, music composition, karaoke video production, and singing. He played a pivotal role in revitalizing SKKN, notably restoring the institution to prominence through acclaimed stage productions.
A prolific writer and active member of the Singapore Malayalee Literary Forum (SMLF), Sudheeran has published notable literary works and contributed to several poetry anthologies, garnering recognition for his contributions to literature.

Renowned for his visionary leadership, mentorship, and artistic excellence, Sudheeran continues to nurture talent and promote cultural engagement. His enduring influence has enriched Singapore’s Malayalee community, fostering a vibrant cultural and literary environment for current and future generations.
