Dr-Susan-Joseph-Garshom-AwaDr Susan Joseph  is a well-known social activist, writer & economist from Goa. She has had great affinity towards social work and spirituality right from her childhood days.

Dr Susan Joseph holds a Ph.D in Economics and has always been placed among the top 5 ranks throughout her academics. She worked as a Professor at Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics and is still working Academic Counsellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has authored books on Economics, presented papers on Economics at the national level at NCERT Delhi, Bhopal & other forums, participated in many seminars, workshops & Symposia on education and has been a Master Trainer for Economics Teachers. She has worked as Convener of the Board of Studies in Economics, Chief Conductor of Public Exams & Chief Paper Setter for Economics for many years.

She has also been very actively involved in social service contributing her bit towards community service. She has played an active role in creating awareness about AIDS by organizing seminars and workshops under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organization and Positive People, a voluntary organization. She has been active in the Lights of the World Movement as well. She has had her involvement in drives against drug addiction, alcoholism & abuse of tobacco. She is a life member of the Indian Red Cross Society & South Goa Coordinator of Goa Governor’s Committee for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

She is the Founder President of World Malayalee Council - Goa Province (the first woman to become the President of any), General Secretary and President of WMC Indian Region. Currently she is the Vice Chairperson of WMC Global. She has worked among the tribal people of Kalahandi-Orissa. She has been instrumental in extending financial help to people of Kerala during the times of flood, Covid & other times, is providing financial assistance to patients for dialysis, has assisted homeless people to have a roof over their head, is providing financial assistance for the marriage of economically less fortunate women and is providing mid-day meals for those who cannot afford. Dr. Susan Joseph is married to Joseph and hails from Alappuzha District.
