GARSHOM BEST MALAYALI ASSOCIATION AWARD 2018
Norwegian Malayali Association- NANMAAssociation is a non profit, non religious, cultural organization of Keralites living in Norway. The organization was formed in 2010 with 25 members and has since grown to over 150 members who reside all over Norway.
The organization aspires to promote and foster a healthy relationship and goodwill in social and cultural areas among the Malayali community in Norway. The organization intends to support humanitarian and charitable causes and act as an agency to mobilize funds and other forms of assistance to the distressed and deserving. It also provides practical information on moving to and living in Norway to aspiring students and professionals and provides necessary assistance to settle down as they arrive in Norway. The organization's objectives also include promotion of Malayalam language and cultural values of Kerala among the new generation of Malayalees in Norway and to the locals. NANMA has done some notable and impacting interventional activities of serving the community that they being to in a highly appreciable manner.
The organization raised funds and donated towards Uttarakand disaster relief in the past, donated towards relief work during the recent floods in Kerala, organised for the first time a Malayalam film release in Norway by screening the film 'Pulimurugan' NANMA also staged for tge first time in Norway a Malayalam Ganamela and Mimics as part of the Onam celebration in 2017. The organization has been regularly organizing a summer camp, Onam, Christmas and New Year celebrations every year.
The organization has put forward plans to inculcate the language, culture and tradition of Kerala to the younger generation of Malayalees residing in Norway. The members of NANMA vows to spread goodness as the name suggests among members of the community residing in Norway and their fellow Malayalees living in Kerala in their own possible ways.
NANMA, Norwegian Malayali Association is currently lead by a very dynamic team comprising of President Mrs. Bindu Sara Varughese, Vice president Mr. Benny Thomas, General secretary Mr. Melwin Lawrance and Treasurer Mr. Anoop M. C.
