Mr. Shamsudeen’s Social welfare activities among the Malayalees won him this year’s Garshom Pravasi Ratna Award. He reached Sharjah in 1970. Besides being the Chairman of Pravasibandhu Welfare Trust and Director of Barjeel Geojit Securities, he is an active member of many Malayalee Associations. He has been instrumental in bringing the issues concerning the Malayalees to the attention of Indian administrators through media.
Garshom Pravasi Vanitha Award

Mrs. Susan Abraham who won the Garshom Pravasi Vanitha Award is a prominent figure in the social service arena in Singapore. She belongs to the second generation of Singapore Malayalee. She involves in activities linking the new generation to the art and culture of Kerala. She is one of the organizers of the World Malayalee Conference due in August 2008.
Garshom Yuva Pravasi Award

Dr. Saji D’Souza the winner of Garshom Yuva Pravasi made Malayalees proud in Andra Pradesh with his inventive endeavours in ayurvedic medicine. He reached Hyderabad in 1997 after the completion of his studies in Trivandrum Ayurveda College. He indulges in art activities too and gives special emphasis on preserving the culture and tradition of Kerala. He represents Andhra Government in health tourism and ayurveda.
Garshom Pravasi Returnee Award

Mr. Danjayan K Machingal Garshom Pravasi Returnee of the year returned to Kerala after thirty years of life abroad. With his experience in Saudi Arabia and Germany, he runs a beach resort, Kadappuram Beach Resort in Thrissur, naattika providing employment for more than hundred Malayalees.

Garshom Best Malayalee Association of the year has been awarded to Kerala Samajam, Cologne for it’s stupendous work in promoting the Malayalee culture and bringing their motherland closer to the younger generation who are in a land foreign to their roots. Kerala Samajam, Cologne now in its Silver Jubilee year has been an oasis of comfort for long to the Malayalee community in Germany. The organization has been encouraging the artistic and cultural interests of German Malayalees besides reaching out to the Malayalees at home through a lot of charitable activities with the financial assistance of the German Malayalees. The Association has been actively involved in teaching the mother tongue and passing on Kerala’s heritage and culture to the second generation of Malayalees of Cologne.
