2002 - A Vision That Crossed Borders
Founded in Kottayam, Kerala, India, in April 2002 by Mr. Jins Paul, a media professional and visionary, Garshom began with a powerful belief: that Indians living beyond their homeland deserve a united voice, a shared identity and a global platform to celebrate their achievements, strengthen their connections, and contribute to society.
Today, more than two decades later, Garshom has grown into a global Indian diaspora network with a presence spanning over 120 countries, bringing together leadership, enterprise, culture, recognition, and social impact under a shared vision.
Our journey is rooted in heritage, driven by relationships, and inspired by the limitless potential of the global Indian community.
2002 -The Birth of a Global Vision
Garshom's journey began in April 2002 with the launch of Garshom Magazine, founded by Mr. Jins Paul as a pioneering internationally circulated publication dedicated to Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs).
At a time when global Malayali communities were expanding across continents, Garshom envisioned a platform that would transcend geographical boundaries and connect people through shared heritage, experiences, aspirations and achievements.
The magazine was created not merely as a publication, but as a bridge between Kerala and its worldwide diaspora.
Its founding mission was clear: to unite Non-Resident Keralites, amplify their voices, recognise their contributions and strengthen their relationship with their homeland.
2002 — Recognising Excellence Beyond Borders
In 2002, the establishment of the Garshom Awards was announced under the banner of Garshom Magazine, marking a significant milestone in the recognition of the global Malayali diaspora.
Conceived as the first international awards initiative dedicated to recognising outstanding Non-Resident Keralites worldwide, the Garshom Awards were established to recognise and honour individuals of Kerala origin who have demonstrated exceptional achievements, leadership, professional excellence, entrepreneurship, and meaningful contributions to society.
The initiative was founded on the belief that the accomplishments of the Malayali diaspora deserve recognition on an international platform and that celebrating exceptional individuals and their inspiring journeys can motivate future generations to pursue excellence.
Over the years, the Garshom Awards have evolved into a distinguished symbol of recognition for the global Malayali community, becoming an integral part of Garshom's identity and reflecting its enduring commitment to celebrating excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions that transcend geographical boundaries.
2005 — Garshom Foundation
A significant milestone in Garshom's journey was reached in 2005 with the establishment of the Garshom Foundation in Bangalore (Bengaluru), India, by Mr. Jins Paul together with Mr. Jaijo Joseph.
The establishment of the Foundation marked a new phase in Garshom's evolution, expanding its mission beyond media and recognition into a broader institutional platform dedicated to connecting diaspora communities, fostering international cooperation, and promoting meaningful engagement across borders.
With its international operations coordinated from Bengaluru, the Garshom Foundation serves as a platform for bringing together diaspora leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, organisations, and communities, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and enduring partnerships.
Guided by a vision that extends beyond celebrating individual achievements, the Foundation seeks to encourage leadership, community development, cultural connections, and collaborative initiatives that generate lasting social value.
Building upon Garshom's founding ideals, the Foundation continues to strengthen connections within the global Indian diaspora, promote international understanding, and foster relationships that bridge communities, cultures, and nations.
A New Era of Enterprise and Impact Diplomacy
In 2026, Garshom entered a new chapter in its institutional journey with the establishment of Garshom Impact Ventures Pvt. Ltd., marking a strategic expansion of its global vision.
