കൊച്ചി: സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സുരക്ഷയ്ക്കായി കൊച്ചി നഗരത്തിലും പിങ്ക് പോലീസ് പെട്രോളിംഗ് ആരംഭിച്ചു. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയനാണ് പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചത്. നാല് വാഹനങ്ങളാണ് ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തില് സേവനത്തിനായി ഉണ്ടാകുക. കൊച്ചി നഗരത്തില് സുരക്ഷ ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്ന സ്ത്രീകള് 1515 എന്ന നമ്പരില് ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടാല് പിങ്ക് പെട്രോളിംഗ് സേവനം ലഭ്യമാകും. കൊച്ചി നഗരത്തില് സ്ത്രീകള്ക്കെതിരായ അതിക്രമങ്ങള് വര്ദ്ധിച്ച് വരുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് പിങ്ക് പോലീസ് പെട്രോളിംഗ് കൊച്ചിയിലും നടപ്പാക്കാന് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്.
ജിപിഎസ്സും നൈറ്റ് വിഷന് ക്യാമറകളും അടക്കം അത്യാധുനിക സംവിധാനങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയാണ് പെട്രോളിംഗ് വാഹനം സജ്ജമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. രാവിലെ 8 മുതല് വൈകിട്ട് 8 മണി വരെയായിരിക്കും പിങ്ക് പെട്രോളിങ് ടീം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുക. പിങ്ക് പോലീസിന്റെ പ്രവര്ത്തനം കൂടുതല് കാര്യക്ഷമമാക്കുന്നതിനായി പുതിയ ഒരു മൊബൈല് നമ്പറും തയ്യാറാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 755, 98, 99,1 00 എന്ന നമ്പരില് വിളിച്ചാല് പിങ്ക് പോലീസ് സേവനം ലഭ്യമാകും. കൊച്ചിയില് നടന്ന ചടങ്ങില് എഡിജിപി ബി.സന്ധ്യ വാഹനത്തിന്റെ ഫ്ലാഗ് ഓഫ് കര്മ്മം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചു. കോര്പ്പറേഷന് മേയര് സൌമിനി ജെയിന് നടി ഷീല തുടങ്ങിയവരും ചടങ്ങില് പങ്കെടുത്തു.
