56 വർഷം നീണ്ട അഭിനയ ജീവിതത്തിനൊടുവിൽ ജാക്കിച്ചാന് (62) ഓസ്കാർ പുരസ്കാരം. ഓണററി ഓസ്കറാണു ഹോളിവുഡില്‍ നടന്ന ചടങ്ങില്‍ ജാക്കിച്ചാന് സമമനിച്ചത്. ഇരുന്നൂറിലേറെ സിനിമകളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം ആക്ഷൻ, കോമഡീ ജനുസ്സിൽപ്പെട്ട സിനിമകളിലാണു പ്രധാനമായും അഭിനയിച്ചത്.
23 വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് ഹോളിവുഡ് താരം സില്‍വസ്റ്റര്‍ സ്റ്റാലന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ പോയപ്പോഴാണ് ഒരു ഓസ്കര്‍ ഫലകം ആദ്യമായി നേരില്‍ കാണുന്നതെന്നും അതുപോലൊന്നു തനിക്കും വേണമെന്ന് അന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. 56 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ചലച്ചിത്രജീവിതത്തില്‍ എന്റെ ഒട്ടേറെ എല്ലുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു. ഒടുവില്‍ ഓസ്കര്‍ എനിക്കു സ്വന്തമായിരിക്കുകയാണെന്ന് പുരസ്കാരം സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
