ബ്രിസ്ബേൺ: ലൊഗാന് മോട്ടോര്വേയിലൂടെ കടന്നു പോകുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ഈടാക്കുന്ന ടോൾ നിരക്കുകൾ ബ്രിസ്ബേൺ സർക്കാർ വർധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. റോഡിന്റെ നവീകരണത്തിനുള്ള പണം കണ്ടെത്താനാണ് ഈ തീരുമാനം. റോഡിന്റെ നവീകരണത്തിന് 512 ദശലക്ഷം ഡോളര് വാഹന ഉടമകളില്നിന്ന് പിരിക്കാനാണ് ക്യൂൻസ് ലാൻഡ് സര്ക്കാര് തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
പാതയിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ട്രക്കുകളില്നിന്ന് കൂടുതൽ ടോള് പിരിക്കാനാണ് പദ്ധതി. ട്രക്കുകളുടെ ടോള് നിരക്ക് വര്ധിപ്പിക്കും. എന്നാല് കാറുകളുടെ ടോള് നിരക്കില് മാറ്റമുണ്ടാകില്ല. ലൊഗാന് മോട്ടോര്വേ പദ്ധതി പൂര്ത്തിയാകുന്നതിന് രണ്ടര വര്ഷമെടുക്കുമെന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നത്. നവീകരണത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് 1300 തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങള് സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടും. മോട്ടോര്വേയുടെ നവീകരണം പൂര്ത്തിയാകുമ്പോള് യാത്രാസമയവും കുറയുന്നതായിരിക്കും.
