ഹൂസ്റ്റണ്: 7 വയസുളള മകനേയും 5 വയസുളള മകളേയും ബാത്ത് ടബിലെ വെളളത്തില് മുക്കി കൊന്ന മാതാവ് ഷിബോറ തോമസിനെ (30) ഹൂസ്റ്റണ് പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. താൻ ഒറ്റയ്ക്കാണ് മക്കളെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതെന്നു ഷിബോറ സമ്മതിച്ചതായി ഹൂസ്റ്റണ് പൊലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വെളളിയാഴ്ചയാണ് കൃത്യം നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചതെന്നും രണ്ട് കുട്ടികളുടേയും മൃതദേഹങ്ങള് സമീപത്തുളള വീട്ടിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവെച്ചതായും ഷിബോറ സമ്മതിച്ചു.
സംഭവം നടന്നതിനുശേഷം ഷിബോറ ഇവിടെ നിന്നും താമസം മാറുന്നതിനുളള ശ്രമങ്ങള് നടത്തുന്നതിനിടെ കുട്ടികളെ കുറിച്ച് തിരക്കിയ അയല്വാസിയോട് ഇവര് കുട്ടികളെ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതായി അറിയിച്ചു. ആദ്യം തമാശയാണെന്ന് കരുതിയ അയല്വാസി തൊട്ടടുത്തുളള വീടിനടയില് ഒളിപ്പിച്ച കുട്ടികളുടെ ശരീരം കണ്ടപ്പോഴാണ് കാര്യത്തിന്റെ ഗൗരവം മനസിലാക്കിയത്. ഉടന് ഷിബോറയോട് പൊലീസില് കീഴടങ്ങുവാന് ഇയ്യാള് അഭ്യര്ത്ഥിച്ചു. തുടര്ന്ന് ഇവരേയും കൂട്ടി പൊലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില് എത്തി കീഴടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.
ഷിബോറയുടെ ഭര്ത്താവ് ഡാനിറ്റ തോമസ് ഒരു ക്രിമിനല് കേസില് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട് ജയിലില് കഴിയുകയാണെന്നും പൊലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. വിവാഹ മോചനത്തിന് 2012 ല് നല്കിയ കേസില് ഇതുവരെ വിധിയായിട്ടില്ല.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏപ്രിലിലാണ് ടെക്സസ് സതേണ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിക്കു സമീപമുളള ടയര്വെസ്റ്റര് സ്ട്രീറ്റിലേക്ക് ഇവര് കുട്ടികളേയും കൂട്ടി താമസത്തിന് എത്തിയത്. ഷിബോറ മക്കളോട് വളരെ സ്നേഹത്തോടെയാണ് പെരുമാറിയിരുന്നതെന്നും അയൽക്കാരുമായി നല്ല ബന്ധത്തിലായിരുന്നുവെന്നുമാണ് പോലീസ് പറയുന്നത്. പ്രതിക്ക് മാനസിക പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലന്നും കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
