1683 ൽ തുർക്കികളുടെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ നാമാവശേഷമായ പ്രദേശമായിരുന്നു ഇത്. ആക്രമണമുണ്ടായ സമയത്ത് ആരെങ്കിലും ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു വെച്ചതോ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പള്ളി തകർക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ അതിനുള്ളിൽപ്പെട്ടു പോയതോ ആകാം പ്രതിമയെന്ന് പുരാവസ്തുഅ ഗവേഷകർ പറയുന്നു. വിഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ ഉടലിൽ നിന്നും തല വേർപെട്ട നിലയിലായിരുന്നു കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
