സിഡ്നി: ബാക്ക്പാക്കർമാരിൽ നിന്നും 15 ശതമാനം നികുതി ഈടാക്കാനുള്ള നിര്ദേശം സെനറ്റ് പാസാക്കി. പ്രതിപക്ഷമായ ഗ്രീന്സിന്റെ പിന്തുണയോടെയാണ് ഫെഡറൽ സര്ക്കാര് നിയമം പാസാക്കിയത്. 19 വോട്ടുകള്ക്കെതിരേ 43 വോട്ട് നേടിയാണു നിയമം പാസായത്.
നേരത്തെ, പുതുവര്ഷത്തില് 32.5 ശതമാനം നികുതി ഏര്പ്പെടുത്താനായിരുന്നു സർക്കാർ തീരുമാനം. എന്നാൽ ഇത് കാര്ഷിക മേഖലയെ ഗുരുതരമായി ബാധിക്കുമെന്ന് കര്ഷകര് ആശങ്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഇക്കാര്യം മുൻ നിർത്തിയാണ് ബാക്ക്പാക്കർ നികുതി 15 ശതമാനമായി നിശ്ചയിച്ചത്.
