തിങ്കളാഴ്ച പുലര്ച്ചെയാണ് സംഭവം. വലിയ നഷ്ടം സംഭവിച്ച തീപ്പിടുത്തത്തിന്റെ കാരണമറിവായിട്ടില്ല. സമ്നാന്, ഹമറിയ, മുവൈല എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലുള്ള അഗ്നിശമന വിഭാഗം മണിക്കൂറുകളെടുത്താണ് തീ കെടുത്തിയത്.

പുലര്ച്ചെ 3.37നാണ് തീപിടുത്തം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. വലിയ പെട്ടിത്തെറിയുടെ ശബ്ദം മൂലമാണ് തീപ്പിടിത്തം ചുറ്റും താമസിക്കുന്നവര് അറിഞ്ഞതെന്ന് ഷാര്ജ സിവില് ഡിഫന്സ് ഡയറക്ടര് ജനറല് ലെഫ് കേണല് സാമി ഖാമിസ് അല് നഖ്ബി പറഞ്ഞു. തിങ്കളാഴ്ച രാവിലെ തീപ്പിടുത്തം സംഭവിച്ച മേഖല കറുത്ത പുക മൂടിയ നിലയിലായിരുന്നു. പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
