സൂസന് കെയ്ഫേലാണ് ഓസ്ത്രേലിയയുടെ 13ാമത് ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസായി ചുമതലയേറ്റത്. 1903ല് സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലാണു സൂസന് സ്ഥാനമേറ്റത്.
ഓസ്ത്രേലിയന് ഹൈക്കോടതിക്കു ആദ്യമായി വനിതാ ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസ്. സൂസന് കെയ്ഫേലാണ് ഓസ്ത്രേലിയയുടെ 13ാമത് ചീഫ് ജസ്റ്റിസായി ചുമതലയേറ്റത്. 1903ല് സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലാണു സൂസന് സ്ഥാനമേറ്റത്. സൂസന് കെയ്ഫേലിന്റെ ജീവിതം ഏവര്ക്കും പ്രചോദനമാണെന്നു നിയമനം നടത്തിയ ശേഷം ഓസ്ത്രേലിയന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി മാല്ക്കോം ടേണ്ബുള് അറിയിച്ചു.
കഠിനമായ ജീവിതസാഹചര്യങ്ങളെ നേരിട്ടാണ് സൂസൻ ഈ പഥവിയിൽ എത്തുന്നത്. ദാരിദ്ര്യം മൂലം 15ാം വയസ്സില് ഹൈസ്കൂള് പഠനം നിലച്ച സൂസന് പിന്നീട് ജോലിക്കിടെ പഠനം പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. 1974 ജനുവരി ഒമ്പതിന് ജനിച്ച ഇവര് 34ാം വയസ്സില് ഓക്സ്ഫഡ് സര്വകലാശാലാ നിയമ പ്രഫസറായി. തന്റെ മുമ്പിലെത്തുന്ന വിഷയങ്ങള് രാജ്യതാല്പര്യം മുന്നിര്ത്തി പരിഗണിക്കാനാണു താല്പര്യമെന്നു സ്ഥാനമേറ്റശേഷം സൂസന് പ്രതികരിച്ചു.
