കാന്ബറ: പശ്ചിമേഷ്യയില് ഐഎസിനെതിരേ പോരാടുന്ന ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന് സൈനികര്ക്ക് ‘ലൈസന്സ് ടു കില്’ അധികാരം നല്കി. ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന് പാര്ലമെന്റ് പാസാക്കിയ നിയമ ഭേദഗതിയിലൂടെയാണ് അധികാരം കൈമാറിയത്. ഈ നിയമമനുസരിച്ച് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടലില് ഭീകരരെ വധിക്കുന്ന ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന് സൈനികരെ പ്രോസിക്യൂട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നതില്നിന്നു സംരക്ഷണം നല്കും.
ഇറാഖിലും സിറിയയിലും സഖ്യകക്ഷികള്ക്കൊപ്പം ഐഎസിനെതിരേ പോരാടുന്ന ആയിരക്കണക്കിനു സൈനികര്ക്കു സഹായമാകുന്ന തരത്തിലാണ് ഓസ്ട്രേലിയന് പാര്ലമെന്റ് നിയമം ഭേദഗതി ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത്രയും കാലം നിശ്ചിത പരിധിക്കു പുറത്തുവച്ച് ഭീകരനെ വധിച്ചാല് സൈനികനെ പ്രോസിക്യൂട്ട് ചെയ്യാന് നിയമം അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നു.
