കൊലചെയ്തതിനു ശേഷം റെനെ, ജാനറ്റിനെ സ്വന്തം വീടിനോടു ചേര്ന്നുള്ള പൂന്തോട്ടത്തില് മറവ് ചെയ്തു. ജാനറ്റിനെ കാണാനില്ലെന്ന് വീട്ടുകാരെ അറിയിച്ചു. ഏപ്രില് 13 മുതല് കാണാതായ ജാനെറ്റിന്റെ മൃതദേഹം സ്വന്തം വീടിന്റെ പൂന്തോട്ടത്തില് നിന്നും മെയ് പകുതിയോടെ പോലീസ് കണ്ടെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ജാനെറ്റ്, റെനെ ദമ്പതികള്ക്ക് ഒന്നരവയസ് പ്രായമുള്ള ഒരു പെണ്കുട്ടിയുണ്ട്. അങ്കമാലിയിൽ വെച്ചായിരുന്നു ഇരുവരുടെയും വിവാഹം.
